TATTING
A "special" meeting of the Needle Nerds was held yesterday evening because
someone called who was interested in learning how to tat. Karen showed up to
share some tatting hints and Thelma came and brought the beautiful banquet-sized
tablecloth that her mother tatted many years ago (shown below).
The tablecloth contains 228 large medallions and 198 small medallions (the small ones join the large ones together). Thelma told us that it took her mother 8 or 10 years to complete it! Here are some close-up views of this magnificient piece:

Thelma's mother loved tatting and tatted well into her 90s. Here's a
framed tatting project her mother completed in her later years.
Knitting, crocheting, and.......now tatting! Sigh........ so many
beautiful things to learn and so little time.....~Julie
